Deja vu explained

If you find yourself in Linens 'n Things and everything looks creepily familiar, I have an easy explanation, which is that as might imagine, corporate HQ hands out plans for how to display all the merchandise. I found these sheets amusing:

What do you do for a living? I arrange displays for stores around the country, all in my secret lab at headquarters. Sounds kinda fun...

I actually did this at one point in my life, although at that stage, it wasn't all computerized. It was kinda fun.

It would totally be fun! I would not be able to resist messing with people. I would - for certain - put things in the picture that weren't in the box, like a glass of milk. Or I would arrange the items so that they said something in code. The temptation would be too great for mischief :)

You obvioulsy didn't work retail...besides that stint at Nord's...these things are for real the most annoying part is that every store is NOT laid out the same way so you have to adapt the display anyway and then "sweat it" when the big scary Regional (capital R) people come do a walk through.

I love your take on it though...the glass of milk thing was some FUNNY Shiite!
